Whatever, Bob, Just Crash it!

The news of the day is Technorati is about to be bought by a large search engine company. There's a lot of speculation as to which one is trying to purchase them. Today, one thing is for sure everyone is talking about it. The source of all the speculation stems from a post by B.L. Ochman "Technorati About to Be Sold." Ochman claims to have heard the news from a VC he knows.

I read an entry yesterday on Scoble's blog about consolidation in the blog space: "Blogging as a business." Seems Robert knew what he was talking about - not that I doubted him.

Once blogs captured the attention of the mass-media it was a matter of time before they started making advertising money and that is what will bring in the acquisitionist. You see Google and Yahoo! can't have anyone horning in on their advertising dollar market share.

That is my take on this speculative secondhand information.
